Opening sequences that are similar to mine

SAW
A sadistic serial killer who is nicknamed jigsaw creates puzzles for the people he has trapped. They must perverse his puzzles in order to live, even if it means killing people to fight for survival.
The puzzles often relate to the fate of the victims. They must do whatever they must to succeed, even if it is torturing them.

Family members are forced to watch the torture via closed circuit videos and sometimes ends in watching the victims die or become severely injured.
This relates to my film due to the fact it involves a game/puzzle where the victims sacrifice others or where there is one victim left and who knows what they will do. Example will they seek revenge of become just like the serial killer.

DAWN OF THE DEAD
This film focuses more on a zombie apocalypse side with an an awake of the dead (aggressive, flesh eating zombies) thirsty for blood. A group of people running from a world they knew so well, due to the fact that they don't want to become lunch. Throughout most of the film they refuge in a shopping mall or what is left of it.

This relates to my film because the victims are isolated from the world and fighting for survival, whereas my film the victims are fighting for survival to get out of the place the serial killer has trapped them in.

WRONG TURN

This involves people being trapped usually near cannibalistic mountain men, or they will often find them self getting near the victims. The cannibals usually kill the victim within a blink of an eye in a brutal manner, chopping them up and eating them, or hiding in the woods and setting up booby traps to catch their prey.

This is similar to mine due to audience attention. What the audience want to see within a film and how their attention is usually caught. What makes them want to carry on watching the film.
I will use this film for inspiration on how to get an audience. I think that the audience would stay interested in the film because things happen so quickly but you don't always know what is going to happen and when

THE HILLS HAVE EYES

A bunch of travelers become stranded and discover that a band of bloodthirsty mutants are surrounding the environment their stranded in. Only being craven for fresh meat.
This relates to my film based on the fact the film starts straight on action but on the other hand it doesn't. It leads up to the action and i think this is more of and inspiration to use whilst filming this is because it often keeps the audience watching it and you want to know what it is that catches the audiences attention to carryon watching.

I KNOW WHO KILLED ME
This could relate to my film on whether i change my synopsis. This film is based on twins where if one is injured the other can feel this and also experience the pain, allowing it to happen to them. The twin is abducted and tortured by a sadistic serial killer, managing to make it out alive. After she regains consciousness in the hospital she then insists her identity is of another woman.

How i would use it to inspire my film is by not showing the serial killer until the end of the film, so it brings tension, leaving it a confused story where the audience is going to wonder who the antagonist is and why they do what they do to certain people.
