I have researched several different film openings of horror films that caught my attention. Here i have started to analyse each film individually focusing on what happens as soon as the film starts, this includes speaking about what is taken place in the first scenes of the movies. i have also explained them simpler with a brief understanding of what happens, rather than going into too much detail.
Each of these films i have researched start of brutally and i find that a few of them are overly gory. having a film being overly gory can put the audience off of watching it because they would know what to expect throughout the entire film, rather than starting it differently so that the audience would not come to the conclusion that there would be blood and guts throughout every scene.
I chose these particular films because i thought that there opening sequences were successful and would catch the audiences attention quickly. I could also use them as inspiration on how to start my film or other films in general if they had a specific theme that correlates to these film i have chosen, for example if i was focusing on zombie apocalypse i would look at the opening sequence of 'dawn of the dead' and also '28 weeks later'.
